Carn Mor Strictly Limited Range

The Carn Mor range of whiskies are bottled by Morrison & Mackay, a family company that are "steeped" in the whisky industry. Two generations of each family are involved in the running of the company. Brian Morrison (whose family were the former owners of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch distilleries) and his son Jamie Morrison run the company along with Kenny MacKay and his son Peter.

They have been operating as an Independent bottling company since 2007 and were known for the slightly quirky 20cl vintage dated range of bottlings that would feature a bottling distilled in each year of the 1980's, 90's and 2000's. These were all nicely displayed on a wooden plinth. I had tasted a few of those bottlings over the years and like all the Independents some were good and some were not so good.

Anyway a year or so ago they decided to ditch that range and concentrate on their single cask range called 'Celebration of the Cask' (more on that in the next email! As well as creating a new 46% range called Strictly Limited.
