A full, oily and briny nose with herbal peat and hints of strawberry mousse. Loads of pepper, smoked kippers, bog myrtle, barley, burnt wood and ash.
The palate is oily and barley'd with hints of white fruit, apricot and subtler, herbal peat. A full and waxy middle with hints of old skool garden peas, salt and building alcohol. Masked but ashy and briny finish. Wow! That's and intense finish!
Water makes the nose fresher and saltier with mint, fragrant white fruit, kiwi, nettle and subtler The palate is still quite full and oil and showing more fleshy fruit. Long, remaining oily with hints of violet and a good slab of earthy peat and bog myrtle on the finish. That's an impressive cask!
