The nose is unsurprisingly softer and less raw than it was at cask strength, showing more toffee and sweeter dried fruit. Do I see some slightly meaty spirit character now? Late orange and ginger notes.
The palate is less raw and similar to the diluted batch 1, fuller, sweeter and with the dried fruit showing a silkier demeanour. Subtle rich, meaty spirit notes on the middle and a long, spicy, slightly citric finish.
