The nose is quite manurey and herbal with green peat, bog myrtle, smoked meat and subtle earthy peat. Some lovely, lithe citrus and white fruit appears but it’s a good old peat fest! Late almost coastal astringency.
The palate opens with briny white fruit and thick set honey. Medicinal and peaty with a touch of smoked bacon, tar and earth. Serious Frazzels mid palate! Masked, white fruit, herbal peat and honey finish.
Water softens the nose and makes it feel fuller. However, that balancing citrus note is still present and its sinus clearing menthol now. The palate is softer, fuller, and more honeyed. Less medicinal and more smoky. Long, smoky, honey, beeswax and smoked meat finish. Yum!
