A very youthful nose with ‘off the still’ cereal, salt, a hint of apricot fruit, some light coffee and smooth orange marmalade. After awhile the fruitiness jumps from the glass.
Dry on the palate, again cerealy, definitely new make-ish with an intense, tangy, salty middle. Delicate fruit, apricot and a slight marmalade and citrus sweetness add to the fun. A very good quality spirit, a bit straightforward, probably needs a bit more time and wood influence, yet it is an interesting experience to taste the spirit unencumbered by cask and peat etc.
