A fresh and crisp nose of mature white fruit and pungent, briny peat. Hints of fish oils, barley and subtle medicinal herbs which build in intensity. With time it becomes very oily and manurey but the balance is stunning!
The palate opens with very sweet barley with milky, soft oak. The peat is more sooty in character and forces its way through the oak. Quite eatery with banana and apricots, but the salty medicinal notes begin to assert themselves on the middle. Intense, crisp, salty, citric finish with lingering mature, gritty peat and sweet peat. Superbly balanced with a lovely combination of peat characteristics and balance of freshness and maturity.
