Independently Bottled Whisky Tasting Evening - 23rd November 2016
We are fast approaching the day of our final whisky tasting of the year and we are finishing off the year in style as we taste, quite possibly, some of the finest examples of Independently Bottled Whiskies around.
The great thing about an independently bottled whiskies are that they offer something that is unique. If you imagine twins born on the same day, when they are very young they look alike and are similar in so many ways. As they get older however, subtle differences start to appear be it in the way they act or appear. These differences will have an impact on them as people as they grow up and mature. In many ways whisky can be the same. Two casks that were distilled on the same day, aged side by side in the warehouse can be quite different to each other ten years or so down the line, and it is these differences that can make a whisky an exceptional whisky.
One of the featured whiskies on tasting on the night will be Caermory 21 Years. Never heard of Caermory Distillery? No, neither have we, but we have heard of Tobermory and this is in fact what the Caermory is! Here is what Chris had to say about it.
'The nose is quite oily with sugar coated barley, baked fruit and coffee'd oak. Wonderfully mature with hints of green fruit, citrus, light earth and milk chocolate. Some gentle creamy oak notes appear and the sweet, milky coffee notes increase. Is this really Tobermory?
The palate is pretty fresh and citric with wood spice and oily barley. Mature and quite fruity for a Tobermory with a distinct baked fruit demeanor. Some earthy and coffee'd tannins come through on the middle but the light fish oils balance the slight bitterness Good length with the woody spices returning. A damn fine old Tobermory!'

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country. These charges are usually levied once the package reaches your country.
