A lovely, luscious and mature nose with oodles of tropical apricot, pear, melon, guava, passion fruit, lime and greengage. The nose displays more sherry notes than the last time I tasted it, but they are subtle and in the background. Gorgeously dusty American oak mingles with hints of banana, liquorice, malt, butter and acacia.
The palate is soft, very fruity and very juicy with more noticeable sherried dried fruit and spice. Hints of honey, liquorice, angelica and tropical fruit follow along with a touch of bitter dark chocolate. Mouth-watering, citrus and mineral finish with lingering almost chilli spice. A superb blend of vibrancy and maturity.
