A pungent, youthful, oily, tarry, peaty nose with ash, mint, medicinal herbs, black pepper and a touch of rose petal (just to remind you that it's a young 'un!) Beneath lies a good weight of sweet-ish banana, apricot and barley. Subtly oaked and subtly salty.
The palate is youthful but rounded with earthier peat, tar, sweet barley and white fruit to begin with. Subtly oaked and lightly salted middle with developing iodine and medicinal peat. Intense, mouth-watering finish, but the alcohol is actually pretty well contained. Exits with a rock salt, rose petal and subtle coffee'd notes.
Water brings out the fruitiness of the spirit as well as the oils and fragrant barley. Subtler peat now with a touch more salt, bog myrtle and waxy orange rind. The Palate mirrors the nose. More oils, barley and sweet-ish white fruit and less peat. Very long and continuing fruity with a suggestion of biscuity wort, astringent herbs, salt and peat. In conclusion: I'm more than happy to put my name to this!

''My small group of whisky buddies tasted your bottling tonight and it is very good. It was tasted alongside a Chorlton whisky 8 yr from last year and elements of islay cl10. All are good but yours was considered best followed by the cl10 and the Chorlton bottling. For me, when reduced slightly to 55% it develops an absolutely lovely sweetness on the finish. It has great balance.
