Quite a heavy, oily and spicy nose with more earth but subrler barely notes. Again, subtle but noticeable oak with creamy vanilla, winey white fruit and sweeter wood spices. Lovely minerality with time along with a slight floral note, pepper and dried fruit.
The palate is oily and barley’d with subtle dried apricot and charred wood. There is a subtle ‘off the still’ note but it’s contained. Gentle, creamy American oak vanillins and a little winey dried fruit come through on the middle with building peppery spices. Long, oily, barley finish with earth, creamy oak, green barley and spicy, taught tannins.
