The nose is very spicy and winy with an STR cask spicy tannic character. Hints of mature barley, raisin, prune, walnut and oxidised mature fruit. Like the 18 year old it is very heavily wood influenced, probably more so.
The palate opens with the spicy, winey red fruit. Sugar dusted with hints of coffee, mature peat? and subtle prune, raisin and sultana. Delicately earthy but there's a herbal stringency that runs through it, which wasn't apparent on the nose. Intense, spicy, astringent, herbal/ medicinal finish.

Delivery outside the UK
