there's a very noticeable alcohol prickle along with the barley, white fruit, heather and earthy/ sweet peat. The American oak is very subtle and with time it becomes quite citric with hints of apricot, banana and tar.
The palate is intensely alcoholic, barley’d and earthy with subtler peat. Tight, very citric middle. Masked, alcoholic finish with some salty minerals, white fruit, burnt heather and honey.
Water emphasises the barley and honey. It also brings out the sweeter peat notes. Less alcohol and more fruit and vanilla. Still quite citric with a soft oily tarriness now. The palate is rounder and softer and shows more barley, oak, estery apricot, and melon. The peat is a little more astringent and tarry with some burnt heather. Long, citric and barley'd white fruit finish and a subtle honeyed after-taste.
