An absolutely stunning nose which opens with thick cut apricot marmalade, vanilla, melon and dried plum. The aromas major on the peppery American rye but there is definitely some fresher, column still grainy rye noticeable. With time hints of burnt wood, Madeira cake, salt and wood smoke. The depth is phenomenal.
The palate opens with macerated apricot, Madeira cake, toasty oak and peppery rye. Like the nose the American rye is the main focus, but the Canadian grainy dried fruit adds to the depth and complexity. Generously fruity on the middle with a good dollop of melon, pineapple and subtle herbal notes. There’s also an almost salty astringency. Masked but buttery finish.
Water emphasises the Madeira and burnt wood. It’s still dense and rich with more casks notes than spirit now, but it’s not unbalanced. The palate displays more of the Canadian column still dried fruit and less oak. The fruit has dropped off a little and the salty minerality is more noticeable. Long, toasty, winey apricot finish with lingering burnt wood.

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country.
