High toned, classic ‘toshan rose petal aromas with sweet, almost jammy red fruit and hints of elderflower, straw, fresh grape and lemon. Given the spirits light character the finish is judicious and spot on!
The palate kicks off with more of the ruby port notes – generous, juicy and fresh red fruit. Hints of spice, earth and a little edgy cereal follow. Subtle rose petal on the middle with developing barley and vanilla. Lovely silky mouthfeel. Masked, spicy finish with the rose petal spirit character returning.
Water emphasises the lemon and barley, it also brings out a touch of vanilla. On the palate it gives the spirit more richness and it also shows less port and more barley. Lovely cherry fruit middle with lingering malt and vanilla.
