A dense but subtle nose of lightly gristy barley, honey, white fruit, acaia and wood spice. Hints of greengage, charred oak, and lime. The honey becomes quite fragrant with time. Overall, it's a lovely balanced and expressive nose.
The palate is oily and full, opening with barley, pear, apricot and grippy oak. Subtly spiced with a touch of sugar coated lemon and some subtle floral notes. Masked, grippy finish with lingering crunchy barley, white fruit and white chocolate.
Water makes the nose wonderfully fragrant and barley'd with liquid citrus, unsweetened pineapple and pollen heavy floral notes. The palate is sweet and silky with a touch more creamy oak and mouth-filling apricot, apple, pineapple and peach. Long, spicy finish with lingering botanical notes and white chocolate.
