An aromatic, rich and fruity nose with apricot, barley and well-integrated sherried dried fruit. Lovely, silky, mature vanilla with a touch of ginger, earth, raisin, green apple, mint and almond.
The palate is full and generous with apple, apricot, barley and mature oak. Like the nose, the sherry is well integrated and shows raisinated fruit and a little coffee’d tannin. Slightly herbal and slightly edgy on the middle with a dry, tannic finish but the juicy fruit balances.
Water makes the nose and the palate sweeter and there’s more distillery character showing. Lovely depth, long, juicy barley’d finish.
