The nose is dark, spicy and woody in an almost Foursquare-like style. Loads of toasty oak, coconut, dried apricot, vanilla, dried banana, sultana and softer, sweeter spice notes emerge. That is a lovely nose!
The palate kicks off with the dark, rummy, dried fruit, apricot, sultana, date and wood spice. Charred oak vanilins come though on the middle. Lovely soft, but spicy finish, which is a little masked. Wood spice and liquorice after-taste.
Water makes the nose less dark and woody and brings out the lighter dried fruit and dried citrus. The palate is also lighter with dies citrus and a little white chocolate. Longer with toasty dried fruit and lightly bittering spice on the finish.
