The nose opens quite fresh and citric (lime) with some almost medicinal peat, before the oily spirit, sweet orange, barley and subtle white chocolate notes arrive. There's not a huge amount of oak character, but that allows the crisp, peaty spirit to show.
The palate is crisp and citric with barley and developing, oily apricot and white fruit. Again the peat is slightly medicinal and is balanced well by the sweetness and fruitiness of the spirit. Very salty and citric finish with hints of burnt wood, liquorice and tar. Like the nose there isn't much oak character, so it's all about the spirit character.
