The aromas are quite barley’d with honey, malt, cereal, pepper and oily vanilla. Very subtly sherried with the classic bready character of the spirit appearing. With time it becomes slightly herbal with hawthorn flower, rose petal and a touch of juniper-like spice.
The palate is rich, honeyed and bready with hints of raisinated fruit and dried citrus peel. Well balanced and displaying a lovely mouth-feel with gentle wood spice, chocolaty tannins, vanilla and citrus on the middle. Good spicy finish with the barley and vanilla returning. Great chocolaty after-taste.
